Because our evening classes are full of adult conversation and flowing libations, we only allow older children who are accompanied by an adult at our 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM sessions. We welcome the younger bunch, accompanied by an adult, to participate at The Canvas during our morning class at 10am and afternoon class at 2pm. Please check out our calendar for different types of children and family oriented classes. We also love to host KID CANVAS Birthday Parties for your little ones. Availability is shown on our calendar and information is found at the bottom of this page.

All children are not created equal so sometimes this is hard to answer. Attention span and motor skills play a big role in their success. Most of our classes take around 90 minutes to 2 hours. For the little ones, we sketch out the basic outline to make it a little easier for them. If you have a child that loves to paint, can follow basic instruction and can hold their attention throughout the class, they will have fun. Don’t forget that we do the paintings one step at a time and there are periods of drying time where they have to wait for a few minutes before moving on to the next step so patience is a must.

Parties are scheduled from 12-2 or 4-6. In order for the children to have ample time for the painting, snacks & gifts, AND because we have scheduled events immediately following the event,  all of the painters need to be in the studio and seated on time.  We encourage everyone to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event.    Upon completion of the painting we will clear the tables so you can use them for snacks and gifts.  Some parties end a little early so please have parents arrive 15 minutes before the end of the scheduled time.

The birthday girl/boy gets to pick a painting that will be instructed for the party.  You can pick from one of our paintings which are shown below, or you can send a suggestion and we will do our best to create a new one just for your child.   Please allow two weeks for custom paintings.
Please include your child’s name and age in the “comment” section when you make your reservation.
