We are in the studio when there is an event shown on the Calendar on our website, or when a private group or party has been scheduled. For this reason we encourage you to sign up for a session as we cannot always guarantee spots for walk-ins.

You are going to a painting class where alcohol is served! Expect to make new friends and have a wonderful time!
You will be guided through the steps of creating an 11” x 14” or a 16” x 20” piece of artwork while enjoying breaks along the way filled with laughter, music to make you dance, and plenty of time to order another drink. We normally instruct with the same colors as shown in the sample painting, but you are welcome to pick your own colors for the entire painting. At the end of the night you will leave with your own masterpiece.
Our paints dry fast to the touch but you will want to be careful on the way home as it usually takes 2 to 3 days for a painting to cure. -
Painting Sessions start at the scheduled times so please arrive at least 15 minutes early so you can get signed in, grab a drink, find a seat, and get set up.
Wear something comfortable that you feel good about painting in. For all of you fashionistas, we will provide aprons, but keep in mind that we use acrylic paints and it does NOT come out of clothing. -
Visit the “group events” page under Upcoming Events for all of the information on reserving a private event.
Our studio holds up to 62 painters so we love large groups and will make your outing one to remember! If possible, please have ONE person sign up for the class or event. We require a credit card to hold your reservation but take payment in the studio so everyone can pay separately when they arrive.
If you don’t want to reserve a private event, your group may also paint during regularly scheduled painting times. If everyone is signing up individually, please make sure to note in the comment section of your reservation one common name so we can have your group seated together. -
If there is an event that is open to the public on our calendar then we are in the studio and you are more than welcome to come in a paint on your own if space allows. For this reason we highly encourage you to sign up online if you are interested in painting, either with a class or on your own.
If you are lucky, one of our instructors might be wandering around to offer you guidance but we can’t guarantee special assistance. The cost to paint on your own is the same as the scheduled painting for that session.

We don’t want to exclude anyone, but our evening classes will be full of adult conversation and flowing libations. For this reason, we only allow older children who are accompanied by an adult at our 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM sessions.
We welcome the younger bunch, accompanied by an adult, to participate at The Canvas during our morning and afternoon classes. Please check our calendar for different types of children and family oriented classes. We also love to host birthday parties for your little ones. Check out Group Events and Painting Library to see what we have to offer for kids painting sessions. -
All children are not created equal so sometimes this is hard to answer. Attention span and motor skills play a big role in their success. Most of our classes take around 90 minutes to 2 hours.
For the little ones, we sketch out the basic outline to make it a little easier for them. If you have a child that loves to paint, can follow basic instruction and can hold their attention throughout the class, they will have fun.
Don’t forget that we do the paintings one step at a time and there are periods of drying time where they have to wait for a few minutes before moving on to the next step so patience is a must. -
Our goal is to put up our calendar 6 weeks in advance, but as artists, we tend to procrastinate, so we appreciate your understanding and promise to give you at least 4 weeks notice.
If you like to plan ahead, email or call us anytime and we will accommodate your reservation and we might even ask your opinion on what painting to offer! -
We have Beer, Wine, Mimosa, Soda Pop, Water, and Tea offered at reasonable prices.
BYOB and other outside beverages are not allowed due to our insurance and liquor license. -
We understand that conflicts arise. Because we have limited seating, if you let us know at least 24 hours in advance we will give you a refund or help you reschedule.
Email is always the best way to contact us! For private events and Kids Canvas birthday parties, we require a two-week cancellation.
If you need to cancel due to bad weather or dangerous driving conditions you will not be charged for the class as long as you notify us via email that you will not be attending the class. -
Well…we think you’ll be missing out! Once you see how the class works we know you will definitely want to paint on your next visit!
If there are seats available at the painting tables you are more than welcome to sit with other painters. Otherwise, you can sit at the bar or at the table in the front of the studio. -
